Glitter! Christmas Cards Day 9

Hi everyone,
I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving.  I am thankful for all of you.  The cards I have today are made with glitter.  It looks nice, but you certainly get glitter everywhere even when you are careful!

For this card I tried a new technique(new for me anyway) using a used dryer sheet and white glue.  I spread a thin layer of white glue on the dryer sheet and them glued it to the cardstock.  I made sure if was very flat and no wrinkles.  I then sprinkled the card with fine glitter.  I stamped my sentiment on the dryer sheet and added embellishments cut from the Cricut machine.  I love the way it turned out!

For this card I just placed the image on the card , stamped the sentiment(I used Staz-on Ink) and then applied a thin coat of glue.  Before the glue was dried, I sprinkled the card with fine glitter.  In some of the videos I saw using both of these techniques they used spray adhesive, but the white glue worked great.

This is my completed door sign all ready to go.  I used foam board so it would be light and easy to hang.  I painted the letters then added flaked glitter while it was wet.  I added snowflakes with Stickles and hung it with a wired ribbon.  I added jingle bells to the ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed these projects.  I will be starting my December book on Sunday so I will be posting some of those pages.  I hope everyone has a great weekend and you aren't too tired from shopping.  Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog!

Snowflakes! Christmas Cards Day 8

Hi everyone,
Well it certainly is winter here in Cleveland, Ohio.  I made this card using different shades of blue ink.  I took a white piece of cardstock and put the ink on heavy then lighter and lighter.  I cut the snowflakes out with a Martha Stewart Punch.  I like the way it turned out!   You could use this card for a winter birthday card by just changing the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed the card.  It was another quick and easy card to make. I am busy working on my December scrapbook and am looking forward to blogging my progress.  I hope everyone has a great week.  Stay warm!  Happy Thanksgiving!  Thanks for checking my blog.

Christmas Cards Day 7

Hi everyone!  I hope everyone had a good week.  Hard to believe it is Friday already.  Today's cards are made from the scraps of Day 6's cards.  When I cut the dies for Day 6 I kept the paper they were cut out of and used them in a set of four cards.  I will be showing you two of those cards.  When you look back at Day 6 you can see where these came from.  Enjoy!

I drew in the snowflakes on the inside of this card so it didn't look so grey.

All I added to the inside of this one was a Santa sticker.

I made a set of 4 of these cards, all basically the same.  The other two say TREE and HOME in the same type of sticker letters on the front.  If you have any questions, please let me know.  I hope you all have a great weekend.  Stay warm.  It is supposed to be a high of 26 degrees here in Cleveland on Sunday.  A good time to stay inside and make your Christmas Cards!  Thanks for checking my blog.

Christmas Cards Day 6

Hi Everyone,

I am posting a few more Christmas cards today.  I made these from a die that I talked about earlier.  I even made some cards from the scraps of the die cutting.  I will show you those tomorrow.  I love using colors that are not totally Christmas.  My husband always loves red and grey.

I used 2 full sheets of decorative paper to make these cards and 1 sheet of dotted paper.  I even had enought decorative paper left over to make the matching envelopes.

I hope everyone enjoys seeing these cards.  If you have any questions, please let me know.  I hope everyone has a great week!

Quick and Easy Christmas Decoration/Gift

Hi everyone,
I thought I would take a break today from posting cards and post a quick and easy Christmas decoration that would make a great gift.  I saw this idea at the crop I attended on November 1-3 and I thought it was great.  All you need to make this decoration is a shadow box frame (any size), bells, and Christmas decorative paper.  I painted the saying on the front but you could cut it out in vinyl or use scrapbook letters just the same.

I love the way it turned out.  This frame can stand alone or be hung on the wall.  I used an 8" x8" frame from Michaels, but you can use any shadow box frame.  The jingle bells come in all different colors, I used silver/red/white.  All these supplies are usually on sale at Michaels or JoAnns so it makes the gift inexpensive, too.

I hope you get a chance to try one of these.  Have a great weekend.  I will post more cards on Monday.  Thanks for stopping at my blog!

Christmas Cards Day 5-Wooden Embellishments

Hi,
The two cards I am posting today were quick and easy.  I added wooden embellishments which really make a card stand out.

I love the colors in these cards!  The first card I just added a sentiment and 3 starbursts in different sizes.  I added red stickles to the center of each for an extra pop.  The second card I used some wooden ornaments.  These wooden embellishments are really popular right now and you can find them in all shapes and sizes.  My favorites come from StudioCalico, but a lot of companies are making them.  They are light and don't add too much dimension to the card so it can still be mailed.

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week.  Christmas is 6 weeks from today!  Hard to believe.  Let me know if you are interested in any special Christmas cards or techniques.  Thanks for checking out my blog!

Christmas Cards Day 4

Hi everyone,
Happy Monday!!!  It is getting ready to snow outside and Christmas is only 6 weeks away from Wednesday!  I am posting two new cards made with a technique called starburst.  I learned a quick and easy way to do this through the www.schoolofscrap.com website.  Check it out and become a member.  I used scraps left over from my crop a week ago.
I like to use some different colors for Christmas.  I love the red and grey.

Instead of a round sentiment circle I used a Christmas bulb sticker and let the ribbon be the sentiment.

I promised I would post some pictures of my scrapbook from my cruise.  This idea is really great for vacations.  I taught it to a large group of women on the cruise.  What I did was get seven (it was a 7 day cruise) 9" by 12" envelopes with a fastener.  I made holes in the bottom corner, inserted a grommet for extra strength, and put it all on a binder ring.  This works out really great because you take this on your vacation and label the bottom of the envelope with each day.  You can store any pictures, receipts, maps, or anything you collect in the envelope.  You can even journal on the envelope since you will be covering it later.  It keeps everything in one place and is easy to travel with.

It was just the right size to use a 8" by 10" picture from the cruise.  If you have any questions about the "scrapbook", please leave a comment or email me at lindahpd@aol.com.  I hope everyone has a great week.  I will post another card on Wednesday.  Thanks for looking at my blog.

Christmas Cards Day 3

Hi everyone!  It is hard to believe it is Friday already!  The days are just flying by.  When I got off work around 1030 tonight, I had to scrape ice off my car windows!  I am not ready for all this winter stuff yet.  The two cards I am posting tonight were made with 2 sheets of the same paper.  I really liked the plaid and the other side had little figures on it in a light blue background,. That's where the snowmen came from.  The paper is by BoBunny and it is called Elf Magic North Pole.

I used wooden embellishments on both cards.  I love the navy blue and green together. And of course the matching envelopes are done in the green plaid.

I took these pictures at night and the color has alot of yellow in it.  I will try to take my other pictures in the daylight.

I have a new project which I will be trying this December.  I have always made cards and have only done a couple of small scrapbooks.  I will be making a December Daily with my friends at www.schoolofscrap.com.  It should be alot of fun!  I will be returning to Ireland over Christmas so I thought it would be a great time to record the month of December.  I will make sure I post my progress.  I will also post one of my scrapbook attempts on Monday.

Thank you all for checking out my blog.  I appreciate it.  I hope you all have a great weekend and I will post again on Monday.

Christmas Cards Day 2

Hi everyone!  I am posting another Christmas card that I made at my crop last weekend.
I made this card in a 9x4 format and I think it looks really nice. This size card would be nice
to use if you were sending money, a letter, or a check to someone. You wouldn't need to
fold them.

I embossed the craft card stock first, then stamped on the sentiment and found a "Believe" sticker that I thought looked really nice.   I added a few snowflakes and the card was done.

Thank you so much for taking the time to check my cards out!  I hope everyone has a great rest of the week.    Another card coming on Friday!

Christmas Cards Day 1

Hi everyone,
I am sorry it has been a week since my last post.  I spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Bertram Inn in Aurora, Ohio for a scrapbooking, cardmaking weekend.  We had a great time and certainly got alot accomplished.  I made 40 new cards and matching envelopes.  My friend was able to get 69 scrapbook pages completed and a couple of other small projects.  I tried making some new card styles for this year.  The card I am going to show you would make a great Christmas card for a man.

I love this card because it looks like it was a difficult card to make and it was really easy.  Making the first card was a little time consuming, but once I made one it was easy to duplicate.  I used wooden stars from Studio Calico and think they were just perfect for this card.  I made a set of four of these cards.  The envelopes match the background where the stars are.  All four cards are made the same but use different background papers.

I hope everyone has a great week this week.  I will try and post a new card on every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until I have shown them all to you.  If you have any questions or would like to know more about a specific card, please leave a comment or get in touch with me on Facebook.  Thank you so much for checking out my blog.  I appreciate it!!
