My December Days 10 through 13

Hi,
I hope everyone had a great week.  Christmas is only 5 days away!!!  I hope you are all ready.  I am still working on My December and trying to keep up until Monday-then I will take lots of pictures but won't be able to make any pages until I get home.

The prompt for Day 10 was do you use bags or boxes for presents.  This year it is bags for me since I can't take any wrapped gifts on the plane.  All my gifts are going in bags.

Day 11 was organize or clean up one area.  I chose my craft table.  There are a couple before and afters.

Day 12 was take a picture of your kitchen now without any cleaning up.  John was helping me make Chex mix so he made the cut.

The prompt for Day 13 was to make a page about someone you would love to spend another December with.  I chose my mom and dad.  They both passed in 2012 (January and February, about 30 days apart)  We certainly had great Christmas' with them.  They are greatly missed.  This was a hard page to make and I shed a few tears, but I am glad I made it.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and I will post pictures and My December pages when I can.  I will be playing catch-up for a little while.  Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog.  I will be gone for around 10 days!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY 2014!!!!!

My December Days 4 through 9

Hi everyone,

I have been very busy getting ready for Christmas and my trip to Ireland.  I have been working a little everyday on My December album.  I really am having a great time making this.  Here are Days 4-9.

The prompt for Day 4 is a favorite tv show, movie or music that you watch every year.

Day 5 Donate something today.  I bought a girl and a boy gift and took them to the Toys for Tots in the TSA office.

Day 6 Your front door.  I took picture of my front door and my back door and made them open.  I posted small pitures of the mat and what it looks like at night..

Day 7  Five things I don't like about December.

Day 8  Find a red donation bucket and donate.

Day 9  Favorite house decorations.

I really love making this album.  I am being challenged by the prompts and I am trying to do each one.  Some of the pages I have added extra pictures and things that we were doing that day that I wanted to remember.  It is YOUR "My December" so you can make it just how you want to.  If you would like to see all the prompts check SchoolofScrap on Facebook or join the website at www.schoolofscrap.com.   I hope to make a blog post on Friday and then either Sunday or Monday before I leave for Ireland.  I will be checking the prompts and taking lots of pictures over there so I can catch up on my album when I come back.  Thanks for checking out my blog.  Have a great week!

MY December Memory Book

Hi everyone,

It certainly was a busy week last week.  I was out of town on Friday so I didn't have a chance to make a post.  I hope you all enjoyed seeing the Christmas cards.  I am now busy addressing them and getting them ready to put in the mail.  I have been busy working on MY December Memory Book.  It is a scrapbook of everyday in December.  I am doing it with the ladies from the Facebook page School of Scrap.  Everyday there is a new prompt for the day so it gives you a challenge in what to scrap that day.  And of course you still scrap any special moments of your own.  This is free so if you are interested just check their Facebook page.  I will be showing you my cover, Day 1, Day 2, Day3 and some extra ideas.  Enjoy!

This is the cover.  I plan to put my favorite picture of all December on the front after I finish the album.  I love the jingle bells.  I used a 6x8 Simple Stories Snap Album.

Day 1.  The prompt for today was to make a list 10 things you LOVE about December.  This is the front of the page.

This is the back of Day 1 with pictures of some of the things I love about December.

Day 2.  The prompt was to use one of your supplies that you hoard.  I used 3 pages for this day.  Some of the things I hoard are the stick pins on page 1.

I hoard the little pictures I print on my ZINK hAppy on page 2.

And on page 3 I hoard the larger picture on the bottom of the page.  I took the picture 5 years ago and just love it!

Day 3.  The prompt for today was smiling faces.  I certainly had to include a picture of Merlin's smiling face and of my mom's dog, Bingo, who we inherited when she passed.

Page 2 of Day 3 includes pictures of dear friends we celebrated with.  I really like the wooden embellishments on this page.  I made my seasonal "Chex Mix" and it always makes my family smile.

I thought it was a good idea to add a weather page to the book.  It is fun to look back and see what the weather was like in December.
Three index pages came in the album, so I divided the album into 3 sections.

I have really enjoyed making this album and it has been alot of fun.  I just finished Day 9 today so on Friday I will post the next three days.  I hope everyone has a great week and thank you for checking out my blog.

Christmas Cards Day 10-Gift Card Holders

Hi everyone,
HAPPY DECEMBER!!!!!  It is hard to believe it is December already.  I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend.  Today I am posting some cards that will each hold 3 gift cards or 2 gift cards and a picture.  I learned this technique at www.schoolofscrap.com.  It really is a fun site, anyone can join and I believe you get a free trial week.  They are also doing a "My December" which is open to anyone on Facebook.  Their Facebook page is School of Scrap.

These cards were alot of fun to make.  They look really complicated, but once you have done one it is pretty easy.  You do need a double sided cardstock for these cards.  And it is better if your cardstock is not directional.  If you look closely some of the items are upside down because of the way you have to fold the paper.  Have fun with these cards.

If you have any questions or comments, please let me know.  You can email me at lindahpd@aol.com or just leave a comment here or on facebook.  Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog.  Have a great week!
