MIO Compadres November Thanksgiving/Fall Autumn Breeze Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to the MIO Compadres November Autumn Breeze Hop.  This month is all about Thanksgiving and Fall. We have lots of great projects to get you in a creative mood!  You should have arrived here from Jasmine's blog, if not, please click the Previous Button below and check out her great creations.

For my first card I used Fun Stampers Journey stamps, dies, and splashes.

I started with a white piece of card stock that is 3 3/4 inches by 5 inches.  I placed the paper in a box and then sprayed it with FSJ Journey Splashes Sweet Berry, Pineapple Smoothie, Citrus Cooler, and Shimmer Gold.  I used my heat gun to dry the paper faster.  I cut the turkey using FSJ Holiday Box Window Plates Die set and the  leaves using the FSJ Thxgiving Die set from gold glitter paper.  I placed these on my card stock and used a pop dot on one of the leaves to make it pop. I used a brown marker to color in the turkey.  I stamped the sentiment from FSJ Thanksgiving Medley stamp set with black ink. I adhered my stamped paper to a black piece of card stock measuring 4 inches by 5 1/4 inches.  I then placed this on a decorative piece of paper that was just smaller then the card base.  The card base is an A2 base from craft card stock.  I glued some copper colored sequins to finish the card.  I love the watercolor effect that you get from the splashes.  Make sure you spray in a confined area or it can get all over.

My second project is a tag using Julie Nutting's doll stamp "Collette" and some leaves I picked up at Dollar Tree.

I stamped the "Collette" stamp onto white card stock with black Memento Ink and colored it with my Copic Markers.  I stamped the doll coat on a piece of gold swirled decorative paper.  I fancy cut the doll and jacket out.  I glued the jacket to the doll.  I cut an 8 inch tag out of heavy card stock and then covered the front and back with decorative paper.  I punched a hole in the top for the ribbon.  I used VersaMark Ink on the sentiment and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder.  The sentiment is from the stamping bella
"Casey has a cornucopia" stamp set.  I adhered the doll to the tag and layered leaves  with a liquid adhesive into a skirt.  I used pop dots on the sentiment.  I placed a gold piece of string through the top and the tag was completed.  I used this card for a tag swap and the recipient loved it!!!!

hope you enjoyed my Autumn Breeze projects.   If you have any questions regarding the cards or Fun Stampers Journey, please comment below or email me at lindahpd@aol.

MIO Compadres October Cooky Spooky Hop

Hi Everyone and welcome to the MIO Compadres October Cooky Spooky Hop.  This month is all about Halloween and we have lots of great projects to get your creative juices flowing. You should have arrived here from Jasmine's blog, if not, please click the Previous Button below and check out her great creations.

For this hop I have used stamps and dies from Fun Stampers Journey to complete my projects.

Card

To make this card, I used several stamps and dies from Fun Stampers Journey.  I cut the spider web using the Holiday Box Window Plates die set and the monster and sentiment from their Candy Monster Bundle.  I then colored the monster with markers and distressed the sentiment.  I cut a patterned piece of card stock to 3 3/4 inches by 5 inches and distressed the edges.  I glued the spider web and monster to the card and used pop dots on the sentiment.  I then added sequins and used a glitter pen on the spider web and monster.  I attached this to a black piece of card stock cut to 4 inches by 5 1/4 inches.  I then attached this to an A2 craft card base.

Candy Holder

These treat holders were fun and easy to assemble.  I cut these out using the Boo Treat and Vampire Treat dies.  I added green glitter eyes to the vampire and black marker for the ghost.  I tied them with twine and they are ready to insert a small treat into.  These would be great for a Halloween party!

hope you enjoyed my Cooky Spooky projects.   If you have any questions regarding the cards or Fun Stampers Journey, please comment below or email me at lindahpd@aol.

MIO Compadres August Lyrical Inspirations Hop

 Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the August MIO Hop.  This month the hop is centered around Lyrical Inspirations. I made two cards that reminded me of two"oldies" songs.  You should have arrived her from  Joy's  blog.  If not please use the button below to go back to Joy's blog and check out all her great creations!!!

Card 1

This first card was inspired by the "oldies" song "It's My Party" by Lesley Gore in 1965.  I cut a 3 3/4 inch x 5 inch piece from an old music book.  I stamped my image on the music paper and colored it with Copic markers.  I added a piece of twine and several sequins to make it pop.  I adhered the music paper onto a piece of decorative paper and adhered that to a piece of black card stock.  I added this to a white A2 card base.

Card 2

My second card is based on the oldies song "Too Many Fish in the Sea" by The Marvelettes in 1964.
For this card, I started with a piece of white card stock cut to 3 3/4 inches by 5 inches.  I used the diamonds from Catherine Pooler's Beautiful World Stamp of Approval Box Geometric stamp set.  I stamped the smaller fish with the smaller diamond stamp for the body and stamped half the stamp for the tail in navy blue.  I stamped the larger fish using the larger diamond stamp in the same way but made it swimming in the opposite directions.  I drew the faces on the fish with a thin lined marker.  I used orange and navy twine to accent each row of fish.  I added clear sequins to look like bubbles. I stamped the sentiment on an orange piece of card stock and used foam tape to pop it up.  I used a navy piece of card stock to back the white piece and then placed it on a white A2 card.

I hope you enjoyed my cards..  It was fun thinking of old songs and making them into cards.

MIO Compadres June Dominant Color Hop

    Orange It Is!!!

Hi everyone!  I am sorry I have been out of commission for a few months.  I had some unexpected changes occur in my life.  I am so happy to be back and hopping with the MIO (My Inky Oasis) Compadres.  Our theme for the June Hop is Dominant Color Cards and the dominant color we had to use in our cards is ORANGE.  I had a great time creating these cards.  You should have arrived here from Joy's Blog, if not, please click on the "previous" button to check out all of Joy's great creations. Don't forget we have a great prize package for someone to win.  The prize package and instructions are posted on the bottom of this post.

I made two cards for our June Hop.  Orange is not one of the colors I use a lot, so it was a challenge to use it on cards that aren't for fall.

For my first card, I used a stenciled background I made using Distress Inks and a stencil from the January Stamp Of Approval Box (SOA) by Catherine Pooler.  The stenciled white cardstock measures 3 3/4 by 5 inches.  I cut a piece of white cardstock using a die from the SOA Box and stamped a flower and sentiment from Fun Stampers Journey Bloom Box.  I colored it with PanPastels.  I placed a few orange sequins on the die cut to give it a little bling.  I adhered the die cut to the white stenciled cardstock and then adhered that to a piece of  4 by 5 1/4 inch black cardstock.  I placed that on a white A2 card base.

My second card is also an A2 card using a white base.  I used a white piece of cardstock cut to 3/3/4 by 5 inches to stamp the sentiment on.  I also colored this cardstock with PanPastels. I stamped the sentiment on to the orange paper and colored it with Copic Markers. I added a little bling to the sentiment with my Clear Wink of Stella pen. The stamp I used is Spellbinder's "Be Sunny" stamp. I adhered this to a piece of black cardstock cut to 4 x 5 1/4 inches.  This was mounted to the card base.

I really enjoyed using the PanPastels which I have not used for many years.  It is great making something old new again.

I hope you enjoyed my cards and will try something from your "stash" that you haven't used in a while.  Also challenge yourself to use a color that you very rarely use.  What fun!!!

I am the last Compadre on the hop, so if you have missed anyone, please check the list below.   This is a very talented group of cardmakers and you don't want to miss any of their creations.

Our featured guest designer for this month is Noelia Iglesias.  She has some great projects for you to look at and enjoy.

Laura is also having a Somebunny's Luck Giveaway, details at the bottom.

My first creation is a St. Patrick's Day card made using Hero Arts "Acts of Kindness" stamp set, "Puttin on the Ritz" sequin mix, and Tim Holtz Mini Distress Ink Kits #2 (mowed lawn), #5(peeled paint), and #11(shabby Shutters).

To make this card, I cut a piece of white cardstock to 3 3/4 inches by 5 inches.  I stamped various shamrocks on the card using the hearts from Hero Arts "Acts of Kindness" stamp set in shades of green using Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  I stamped the sentiment in green and added sequins from the "Puttin on the Ritz" sequin mix.  I added clear Wink of Stella to each shamrock.  I glued the white cardstock to a green piece of cardstock cut 4 inches by 5 1/4 inches. I adhered the whole thing to an A2 white card base.

My second project is an Easter Card using Altenew "Painted Poppy" stamp set, "Raspberry Crush" sequin mix and Tim Holtz Mini Distress Ink Kits #13(abandoned coral) and #11 (festive berries, milled lavender).

I started this card with a piece of 140# watercolor paper cut to 3 3/4 inches x 5 inches.  I applied the Tim Holtz Distress Inks onto an acrylic block and spritzed it with water.  I placed this on the watercolor paper and "smooshed" the acrylic block onto the paper.  After drying, I used black ink to put the flower and sentiment onto the card.  I placed a few sequins from the "Raspberry Crush" sequin mix.  I applied the watercolor paper to a piece of black cardstock and placed that onto an A2 white cardstock base.  I wanted to keep the card simple, but elegant.

I hope you enjoyed my cards.  Thank you for joining Somebunny's Luck February Blog Hop.  These products and much more can be purchased at Laura's Loft.

A Fun Card for Laura's Loft

    Hi everyone,

Today I am featuring a card I made from the Avery Elle "More Stories" stamp set and matching dies.
My card is being showcased today at Laura's Loft where you can buy this great stamp set and dies.
I am very proud to be a member of the Design Team at Laura's Loft.  I am in the company of many great card designers!!!

It finally turned cold and snowy here in Cleveland, Ohio so I decided to make a "Missing You Spring" card today.

For this card I cut a piece of watercolor paper to 4 3/4 inches by 3 3/4 inches. I cut two cloud shapes out of post-it-notes to make a mask.  I put some Tim Holtz Shabby Shutters and Mermaid Lagoon distress inks on my work surface.  I then took a water brush and painted then onto my watercolor paper and placed it aside to dry.  Next I stamped the fox, kite, and banner onto white cardstock with an archival ink.  I colored the fox and kite with water color brushes and stamped the missing you on the banner.  I die cut the fox, kite, and banner.  I adhered the fox and kit to the watercolor paper.  I tied small pieces of twine to the tail of the kite.  I used foam tape to pop the banner up.  I stamped the grass onto the watercolor paper with Lucky Clover distress ink and the flowers with Wilted Violet and Fossilized Amber.  After stamping, I used a water brush to give the grass and flowers the watercolored look.  I placed the watercolor paper on a black piece of cardstock and placed that onto a purple A2 card.

I hope you enjoyed my card.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.  Comments are always welcome.

The products I used for this card can be found at Laura's Loft and are linked below.

Avery Elle " More Stories" Stamps
    Avery Elle "More Stories: Dies
Tim Holtz Mini Distress Ink Kits:
           #11 (shabby shutters)

    Hi Everyone,

Welcome to Love Grows Here with Laura's Loft January Shop & Hop. I am honored to be a full time design team member for Laura's Loft along with a great group of talented designers.  My post today is part of  Laura's Shop & Hop for January featuring Winter and Valentine's Day.

Our featured guest designers for this month are Nico Favro and Valentine Dalmonte.  They have some great creations for you to see.

Laura is also having a Love Grows Here Giveaway, details at the bottom.

My first creation is a Valentine's Day card featuring the Avery Elle "More Stories" Stamp Set and Dies.  I also used Tim Holtz Distress Mini Ink Kits #10 (Bundled Sage), #11 (Shabby Shutters), #13 (Fossilized Amber), #14 (Blueprint Sketch & Hickory Smoke), and #15 (Wilted Violet).  The stars are from the Glacial Bliss Sequin Mix.

For this card, I cut a piece of white cardstock to 3 3/4" x 5".   I cut a circle out of a post it note and used it as a mask for the moon.  I also cut a mask for the grass .  I stamped the bunnies and used a masking pen to color them in.  Since there is only one bunny stamp, I used the reverse stamping technique for the other bunny so they would face each other. I outlined the bunnies with a black marker and shaded them with a grey marker.   I colored the sky with the Blueprint Sketch, Hickory Smoke, and Wilted Violet Distress Inks.  The moon was colored with Fossilized Amber and the ground with Bundled Sage and Shabby Shutters.   I used the die set to cut out the little hearts and banner.  I stamped the banner with the "love you" saying and used foam tape to make it pop.  I adhered the white cardstock piece to a black piece of cardstock and then to a decorative polka dot paper.  This was then placed on a white  A2 card.

My second creation is a tag I made using the Altenew Painted Butterflies Stamp Set, Virginia Turtle Holly Jolly Enamel Dots, and Tim Holtz Distress Mini Ink Kits #11 (Milled Lavender & Festive Berries), and #13 (Fossilized Amber).

For this tag I cut a piece of watercolor paper into the size and shape tag I wanted.  I used the acrylic block watercolor technique for the background.  I then stamped various butterflies from the Altenew Painted Butterflies Stamp Set in black ink over the dried background.  I applied the distress inks with a cotton tip swab to each butterfly.  I drew hearts with a black marker and inked those also with a cotton tip swab.   I stamped a saying onto a small piece of watercolor paper, distressed it, and adhered it with foam tape.  I tied a red ribbon and it was ready to go to my Valentine!!!

I hope you enjoyed my creations!!!  The products I used in my card and tag can be purchased at Laura's Loft.

This is the great prize for the Love Grows Here Giveway and directions on how to enter.
